Early 2019, Electronic Arts (EA) and Respawn Entertainment surprised the gaming world by simultaneously announcing and releasing their newest flagship title: Apex Legends. The free-to-play battle royale shooter became an instant hit, and has continuously been supported with great additional seasonal content.
For Season 5 “Fortune’s Favor”, we supported EA with an influencer campaign in order to further strengthen the Apex community in the Benelux. We identified that both Twitch and YouTube were the primary channels through which we could reach our target audience. After a thorough selection process, we chose GameMeneer and Yarasky to be the main drivers of the activation. They produced authentic and highly engaging content, showcasing all the new elements of Season 5.
Apex Legends Season 5 was a tremendous succes: it had the highest level of per-play engagement up until that point, the highest daily retention of any Apex Legends season, and the biggest number of new players since Season 1. We are happy to have been a part of this succes by churning out over many hundreds of thousands of impressions of Apex content at popular influencers.
