The ambitious start up Pabbl (Amsterdam) asked us to come up with a creative way to get a huge amount of mainstream media attention for the release of their brand new lockscreen advertisement app. So what do you do? That’s right. We’ve organised the very first official national Championship Smartphone Swiping for the Netherlands!
Together with Pabbl we’ve organised the Dutch Championship in Amsterdam. Pabbl developed an exclusive and official swipe game for the Championship which was playable on the official smartphones of the Championship provided by ASUS. During the day contenders were competing to become the first National Champion Smartphone Swiping. The first official Dutch National champion said “this is a dream that became reality”. Via various press releases, a social media campaign and promotions in the app we’ve generated a lot of awareness among the target audience and media.
Results: The Dutch Championship Smartphone Swiping became a big success. It generated large amount of coverage in big mainstream Dutch and Belgian media, with items on television such as Jinek and Powned, newspapers like: Metro, Telegraaf, Algemeen Dagblad, NU.nl, HLN, MarketingFuel and coverage on big radio stations like, Qmusic, NPO Radio 1, NPO Radio 2 and 3FM.
